Total Community Approach is a partnership between the
New Mexico Behavioral Health Collaborative and local communities most
affected by methamphetamine and other substances to address problems caused
by the use of these substances. Total
Community Approach means teaming up with local municipalities and targeting
resources to the areas where they are most needed to deal with substance use
and behavioral health challenges.
The Total Community Approach Plan was developed by the Mora,
San Miguel, and Guadalupe Group to address substance abuse and dual-diagnosis
needs for adults in Las Vegas and surrounding areas.
The MSG Total Community Approach Plan is designed to target all aspects of
alcohol and illegal drug use:

MSG TCA Intent:

MSG TCA System Goals include:

Provision of services
·
Linking consumers to peer and forensic peer specialists
·
Developing and linking consumers to wrap-around (recovery
support) services
·
Incorporating Promotoras into the system
·
Increasing provider skills, particularly for co-occurring
consumers
·
Creating linkages between criminal justice, judiciary,
treatment, and prevention
